Qualifications:

Early Childhood Special Educators (ECSE):

1. Shall have a Master’s degree, in Early Childhood Special Education, or Psychology, Counseling, or Early Childhood Education Special Education, Educational Foundations and Counseling, Education and Learning Disabilities, Early Intervention and Family Support, Early Childhood Education Leadership, or similar degree, from an accredited college or university that prepares individuals to provide early intervention services pursuant to IDEA, and possess an appropriate certification in early intervention services issued by a recognized State or local authority.

2. ECSE with a master’s degree or higher and shall have at least 2 years of direct ECSE experience within the last 5 years in special education related settings.

3. Shall have a basic knowledge of developmental assessment, facilitation of child development, and theories and practices for serving young children with disabilities.

4. Shall have experience in a natural environment and possess 2 years of experience working with age groups birth to 3.

Job Requirements:

  • Recruit youth and encourage participation in the after school program
  • Supporting the youth education program's outreach and promotion activities and events
  • Improving health outcomes among youth through technical leadership and outreach
  • Support the monitoring and evaluation of youth health activities in the field
  • Learned from youth programming and promote utilization of that knowledge including strengthening training for staff on youth issues across different offices and bureaus
  • Ensure that the curriculum help to increase youth's grade level performance
  • Develop an action plan for youth programming globally and in the field
  • Providing social and emotional support so as to minimize the number of youth
  • Follow up with youth who miss medical appointments and assist in rescheduling appointments
  • Assisting with the collection of best practices
  • Support the design and implementation of a strategic plan for strengthening and expanding youth activities within PRH-funded projects managed by Washington staff, including identifying youth
  • Drafting and editing blog posts and activity guides
  • Supporting the team's youth outreach
  • Serve as a technical expert on health sector or multi-sector programs and initiatives for youth
  • Support the field, through TDYs or virtual support, regarding youth health activities
  • Provide outreach, case finding and mentoring for at-risk youth in / assigned geographic area
  • Secure materials, event tickets and field trips from the community to enhance the educational learning environment for youth
  • Facilitate the development of strengthened youth-focused health programs, activities, country strategies, and/or policies
  • Implement activities that strengthen PRH's capacity to support improved Mission-level programming for youth
  • Work as part of a small team where / will gain hands on experience working with peer education programs, youth audiences and with outreach activities
