Job Requirements of Medical support assistant( MSA):
Major duties include but are not limited to:
- Scheduling, canceling, re-scheduling patient's appointments and/or consults
- Entering no-show information
- Monitoring the Electronic Wait List
- Preparing for clinic visits
- Ensuring encounter forms are completed
- Monitoring both inpatient and outpatient appointments for areas of responsibility
- Verifying and updating demographics and insurance information
- Processing of all emergency and non-emergency transfers to other VA facilities or private hospitals
- Performing basic eligibility, co-pays and preauthorization requirements for specific coverage
- Routinely communicates with physicians, case managers and other allied health professional staff using sound interpersonal skills vitals

Medical support assistant( MSA)
Sterling Medical is seeking full time Medical Support Assistant(MSA ) to provide services at the VA Medical centers in Colorado.
The Medical Support Assistant performs duties related to the receipt, intake and indexing of health and administrative information and is responsible for scheduling appointments, including interpreting and verifying provider orders in accordance with VHA national scheduling guidelines.
Clinical areas and locations vary ; Alamosa, CO , Aurora, CO, Burlington, CO, Castle Rock,CO, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Glendale, CO, Golden, CO, La Junta, CO, Lamar, CO, Pueblo, Colorado or Salida, CO
Job Type: Full time
Clinic Hours: Regular business hours: Monday – Friday 7:00am – 6:00pm, excluding federal holidays; contractor personnel will work an 8-hour shift within the defined business hours.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:

Citizenship : Citizen of the United States.

English Language Proficiency: MSAs must be proficient in spoken and written English

Type at least 50 WPM

Basic medical terminology knowledge

Experience: Six (6) months customer service experience; of clerical, office, [customer service], or other [administrative] work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position,

Education: Have a High School education or GED equivalent
