Job Requirements of Travel Sterile Processing Technician:
Skills required:
• Knowledge of
o Surgical instruments used in operating rooms and clinic settings
o Event-related packaging regarding sterility
o Sterilization and cleaning equipment
o Universal precautions for safety and prevention of cross contamination
• Basic Knowledge of
o Medical terminology to assemble specialty operating room/clinic instrument sets
o Basic understanding of basic principles of microbiology as they apply to medical supply operations, especially as they relate to resistance of microorganisms to external destructive agents such as heat, chemicals and ionizing radiation.
• Working understanding of anatomy and physiology to understand how the instrumentation is used and can make educated instrument substitutions as necessary in the instrument trays, or on an emergency basis, make suggestions to the clinical staff of equivalent, acceptable instruments.
Experience:
- • 2 years MIN of Sterile Processing Technician Experience
Certification: Must have either-
- • HSPA Certification OR CBSPD Certification
Must also have a current BLS certification

Sterile Processing Technicians
to Travel to
VA Eastern Colorado Health Care
At the Veterans Affairs Medical Center
In Aurora, CO
WE ARE LOOKING FOR SPT’S that would like to do a Travel assignment at the VA in Aurora, Colorado
Competitive Rate:
In addition to the pay rate, a travel SPT will also get:
- • Daily Lodging and Per Diem stipend
- • Daily Travel stipend (includes meals and incidentals)
Note that the Daily Lodging and Per Diem stipend and the Daily Travel Stipend are provided on a tax-free basis.
Very nice compensation package!!
Hours:
Monday-Friday
Positions may be assigned with rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends
Holidays-11 paid federal holidays
Required Hours:
(8) eight-hour shifts
Overtime may be required on rare occasions.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Minimum of High School diploma or GED Equivalent
