Job Requirements of Electrocardiograph Tech-VAMC, Los Angeles:
General Duties, but not limited to:
- • Be able to operate instruments used to record echogcardiograms, exercise tests, 24-48 heart monitoring and scanning, and pacemaker evaluations.
- • Be knowledgeable of typical patient reactions and signs of medical/physical/psychological distress including ability to recognize report and treat potentially lethal arrhythmias.
- • Be knowledgeable of common ECG equipment setting and standardized operating procedures and also knowledgeable of common errors and corrective measures.
- • Have the ability to demonstrate proper ECG lead placement.
- • Possess knowledge of medical terminology.
- • Have the ability to modify procedure/lead positioning to obtain correct results with patients with complicated conditions such as amputations, Parkinson’s disease, and structural defects (e.g. scarred tissue)
- • Be knowledgeable in operation monitoring such as watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- • Have basic computer skills. Must be knowledgeable with Microsoft Office Software (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook).

For VA Greater Los Angeles Health Care
At the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center
Los Angeles, California
Hours: Monday- Friday 7:30am -4:30pm
Qualifications:
Certification/License:
• BLS Provider Certification (American Heart Association)
Education:
- • Certification is offered by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) for qualified candidates.
Experience:
• 2 years’ experience as an Electrocardiograph Technician
